Fantasy Fibers |
Believe it or not, about a month ago I had the newsletter almost done…and then the computer…well, lets say that a lot of Fantasy Fibers disappeared in a blink of an eye…along with my newsletter-to-be. I hope I can re-create something similar. If I promised someone to put something in the newsletter and it doesn’t appear, please contact me again.
Starting immediately, the prices for carding and picking are going up. I’ve only increased my carding and picking prices once in 8 years and must do it again. All fiber that’s here already here, will be done at the old price, any coming in after today (1/22/05) will be charged the new prices of:
PICKING--$2.00/#
CARDING--$5.60/#
One thing that I have at the shop that I haven’t followed through on are the sock machines. I have one Verdun, an Auto Knitter and 4 LeGare’s. They can all knit tubes and heels and toes. I haven’t gotten the ribbers going yet, but hope to do that soon. When this is done, I will have them all for sale. I may need a nudge or two to get all the tweeking done, but if you’re interested, please let me know. Thanks.
Country Classic’s Dye has three new colors: Butterscotch, Teal Blue and Rust. They join a good array of colors. These dyes are very simple to use…no need to add anything…my kind of easy! Ha! They will dye about 2# of fiber and cost $5.40 per jar.
Last month we got a new carder! Yeah. We’re so please with it. It took a little adjusting on our part, but it’s working well and keeping me busy! We’ve even been successful with 50%/50% merino/angora rabbit…something we could not do with our old carders
Along with the new carder, we got a steamer. This enables us to set the twist on any yarns we may be spinning. They turn out wonderful. We’ve been doing this as a favor for everyone at this point. It may be an “extra” in the future, but until then, enjoy!
We’ve also replaced our old cone winder with a brand new double headed cone winder. It has a speed control and works great in conjunction with the steamer.
We’ve gotten in some new Uni (solid colors) Opal yarns…dark grey, dark brown and dark green. We also got in some yarns to fill in the holes in colors blends of different lines. If you’re looking for something in particular, call and we’ll let you know if we have it, okay?
Our supplier of Merino Top and Colonial Top has raised the price again. I’m afraid we will be raising our prices in the next couple of months. If you’re looking for something in particular, give us a call. If we have it on hand, it will sell for the old price. Hopefully all the new prices will be in effect by the time the next newsletter comes out.
Well, for lack of remembering what else was in the newsletter that disappeared, I’ll close one more time. Hope everyone is well and happy. Take care & God bless.
