Well, if I want to get this newsletter, I’d better get it done soon…August is almost over. This year seems to be rolling by way too fast for me.

An addition…this newsletter went into hibernation for a few days as I couldn’t find it. Jim, bless his heart, just found what was done already…now to finish and send.

On July 16 th we had our Porch Sale. Weather was great, but the sale was a very slow one. I’ll try it again maybe in October. Will let everyone know the date soon.

Our new equipment arrived the first part of July. In the shipment we got another new carder with bump winder, another 8 spindle spinner and a center-pull ball winder. If we weren’t busy before, we sure are now. The new carder is in full swing and producing more output than the old one did, so hopefully we’ll catch up a little more now.

I’ve been making the time to get some of my own llama fiber (with 20% wool) and hope to have it ready (in approximately 4oz. center-pull balls) for Oregon Flock & Fiber Festival which is September 24 & 25 th in Canby, Oregon. I’d better get my act together as there’s about 90 pounds of the yarn!!! Hope to see many of you there.

Next month (September) Jim & I are going to spend a week visiting our parents. We won’t be gone long, but look forward to a little break of the work routine. Jackie & Myrna will still be here Monday through Thursday from 9-3. If you can’t make it between those hours, call in and maybe we can make arrangements.

Last Friday (August 26 th) several of us sock machine knitters spent the day on the porch of the shop knitting socks, eating and gabbing. We sure had a good time. Hope to do it again in a few months. Next time it will definitely be inside, though…by that time it will be way too cool to be out on the porch! Ha!

We just got good news…we’re going to be grandparents again! Our daughter and son-in-law will be having a baby in the spring!!! We’re all so excited!

We’ve been having a challenge with some folks not picking up their fiber…or forgetting about it…the past year or so. I’ve had several people tell me that I really need to adopt a new rule and so it is… Please be aware that from now on, you will need to either pick up or make arrangements to pick up your fiber/yarn within 30 days. If I don’t hear from you in that time frame, we will put it in storage for a short time and sell it after that. I just don’t have the room (we have more than 4 shelving systems with pick up fiber at the time) to store finished fiber/yarn for any longer than this. I greatly appreciate your compliance with this. Everyone keeps saying I need to add on to the shop, but I’ve been through that once before and…never again. Thank you for your cooperation.

Well, I’ll really try to get the next newsletter out in a more timely fashion…I promise. Until then, take care & God bless.
