The first newsletter went over so well that you made me feel like another one was justified! Thanks. I’m still getting in notification from people to send their newsletters via email…thanks. I think that I will send out more this time around and will wait to hear back (email, snail mail or phone) to compose my “newsletter” list. If you’re getting this by email or have let me know that you don’t have email and need to get yours via the post office already, you’re on the list…no need to let me know again. The end of June the postal rates go up and I’d kind of like to whittle my snail mail list before that. Thanks for your cooperation.

Another thing to do with shipping…I’ve encountered my second instance where a package has gotten “lost” before it has reached it’s destination. From now on all packages (unless you instruct me otherwise) that are shipped through the post office will have a Delivery Confirmation charge included in the shipping cost. This

charge is minimal…under $1.00 per package. This gives me (and you) a tracking number that we can follow across the USA.

Our classes are going well. Please call or email us to put your name on the list as soon as possible as we are limited to how many people we can take for each class. Thanks. Here’s the scoop on a couple of classes that we’ve already had.

The sock class with Trish Anderson was so packed with information that she will be back on June 15th to finish up! I so wanted to join in on the fun, but have been so backed up with work that I could only peek in once in a while. I wanted my hands tangled in the yarn like everyone else. Maybe we can talk Trish into doing a repeat of this class (version 1 and 2 if necessary) if enough people are interested. Not only do you get to learn to do the wonderful multicolor socks that she makes, but you get to hear the continuing saga of the Anderson family…especially Trish!

The Basic Soap Making class was really interesting. I even took this one. I now have two orange juice cans sitting, insulated, in the bathroom out here in the shop. Now all I need to do is wait for 6 weeks (well, there are a few things I need to do before that, but the waiting will definitely be the hardest part). I think I could like this. Now to find that “SPARE TIME”.

The fragrances of soap that we carry for sale have expanded. Besides the Cucumber/Melon, Stress Relief, Berry/Melon and Oatmeal Milk & Honey that we had before, we have Spicy Applesauce, Purely Herbal, Blueberry, Sun Ripened Raspberry, White Spice, Vanilla, Chamomile, Hazelnut, Lemon, Cranberry and Cool Citrus Basil. They sell for $3.50 per bar and are approximately 4oz. each. When I’m having a bad day, I go smell the soap! They are all wonderful. We plan on having them at the NwRSA conference May 30-June 2 and at Black Sheep Gathering June 20-23. Hope to see you at one or both of these fine shows.

The Eccoscour is selling fast. I’m glad I got plenty of bottles. It will be available here at the shop and also at both of the up-coming shows. It is a good, efficient and ecological way to wash your fiber. Check it out. Quarts are only $8.00 and by the Gallon, it’s $25.00!

I have so many spinning wheels and my space is getting smaller (or so it seems). Besides the Lil’ Herbie wheels we have for $600.00 (we have a carrying bag for them also…one extra on hand at this time), I have a Schacht single treadle with 7 standard bobbins, a Woolee Winder with 4 bobbins, a lazy Kate, the regular whorl and a large (slow) whorl and a carrying bag for $900.00, a Jensen Tina II with 3 bobbins for $500.00 (this wheel is nearly new, but enough is enough folks). I also have a beautiful handmade 100% myrtlewood spinning wheel which I just had to have and haven’t convinced myself that I need to get rid of it yet…I have a price tag of $1200.00 on it…it has 8 bobbins and a built in lazy kate that holds 2 bobbins. If you’re interested, or at least think you are, call me or stop by to check them out.

Summer is upon us and our porch is getting ready for spinning days. If you’re interested in a July, August or September day of spinning in the breeze, let me know. We’ll be throwing in days to enjoy this luxury whenever there are several people looking for the same day! The porch is yours to enjoy as much as mine…if the weather turns on us, there’s plenty of room indoors, too.

On May 16th we had a group of women here with their sock machines…and we got cranky! Many socks were made and a lot of fun was had by all. We hope to offer this again soon…keep in touch if you have a sock machine and are interested getting together with other cranky knitters!!!

Once again it’s time to get this printed up…Northwest Regional Spinner’s Association Conference is this weekend and I still need to pack things up to leave in the morning. Hope to see you at Conference or Black Sheep Gathering (June 20, 22 and 23). Until next time…take care & God bless.
