Once again, I’m running behind schedule. The weather’s been wonderful in the northwest and, although we are really hurting for moisture, we’re enjoying all the sunshine and warm temps!!!

At last, we will be having another class. This one is for a new basket. The date is April 9 th. Sure hope you can join us…the class is filling up fast. Remember, the class fee reserves your spot. You can pay the materials fee ($15.00) the day of the class. Here’s the info that Renee has sent to me. I can hardly wait!

Appalachian Egg Basket

This is a great introduction to traditional rib baskets. It is a good size for spinning wool, yarns or quilting fabric. We will be discussing basic rib basket construction and finishing techniques. No previous weaving experience is necessary. 10-4, one day workshop.  Cost will be 20.00 fee + 15.00 materials= 35.00. Minimum of 4, max of 8. Bring a sack lunch.

Although I don’t have any “posted” open hours, I think it’s fair to say that someone will be in the shop Monday through Thursday from 9 to 3. Any other time needs to be by appointment only.

My daughter is now working a couple of days a week in the shop. She’s bound and determined to get me organized! We’ll see. One of the areas she’s tackling is the finished yarn/fiber. We’ve decided that fiber/yarn needs to be picked up in a timely manner. When you’re notified (either by email or phone), please make some kind of arrangement to pick up your order. Most customers are right on top of this and anxious to get their fiber. I thank you for that. However, we have some yarn here from over a year ago.

Because I’m so far behind in processing my own fiber, I’m thinking of having a “porch” sale toward the end of May. I will have all my llama and alpaca fiber for sale…some has been washed already, some is fresh off the animals. The fiber will be priced to sell. I’ll have an exact date in the next newsletter .

We’ll be at Northwest Regional Spinner’s Association’s conference in Salem, Oregon this June. Then a couple of weeks later we’ll be at Black Sheep Gathering in Eugene, Oregon. We’ll have a cross section of all the fiber we normally do at these shows. We should have room for any fiber you want to drop off at these shows…saves you a trip and/or shipping costs.

I know this newsletter is shorter than normal, but I’ve got writer’s block…or something like that! Ha! Hope you all have a great spring…and shearing season!

Take care & God bless.
